Pay attention to safety in the use of steel barrel coating thinner
thinner is a colorless transparent liquid most used in the production of steel barrel coating. Because it can emit the smell of flowers, people often call it banana water. In addition, it can also be equipped with ordinary computers. In fact, its official name is thinner or thinner, solvent oil. The paint used for steel barrel coating generally needs to be diluted with thinner before it can be used. Some people often cause fire or explosion accidents due to improper use due to lack of understanding of the characteristics of thinner
thinner is insoluble in water and is a direct fraction of oil. Like gasoline, it is a flammable and explosive dangerous goods. In the process of transportation, use and storage, if the safety management of thinner is ignored, it is easy to cause fire and explosion accidents. The freezing point of the thinner is minus 116 ℃, the boiling point is 34.6 ℃, the flash point is minus 45 ℃, and the explosion limit is 1.85 ~ 36.5%. The thinner is very volatile, and the volatile oil and gas in a short time can spread to several meters or even 10 meters away. If it encounters fire, it can catch fire. When the oil and gas catch fire, the flame will backfire in the opposite direction of the air flow, resulting in violent large-area combustion. For example, through the torque coefficient tester, it is convenient to detect that the oil and gas can mix with the air in a certain proportion in a tight room or in a vehicle or ship, and it can also cause a strong explosion and cause heavy losses
thinner is also characterized by strong insulation and easy to generate static electricity. If the thinner is packed in plastic barrels, after repeated shaking, static electricity of up to 15000 volts can be generated inside. Once discharged, it can lead to a fire. Unfairly, the thinner also softens the plastic. If the thinner is stored for too long, the plastic will soften and leak out, so the possibility of fire is greater
since the thinner is flammable and explosive, the concentration of oil and gas in the air should be strictly controlled in the place where the thinner is used, and should not exceed 0.3 mg/L. Once the oil and gas are found to exceed the standard, measures should be actively taken to strengthen ventilation and reduce its concentration so that it cannot reach the explosion concentration limit. When transporting thin materials, rough loading and unloading are not allowed, and light loading and unloading should be carried out to prevent friction and vibration. When transporting by car, a metal chain should be installed at the tail of the storage tank to ground, so as to conduct the electrostatic charge and prevent the occurrence of fire. In the places where the thinner is used and stored, there must be no fire source, and the electrical equipment installed must be fire-proof and explosion-proof. Do not use plastic buckets to hold thinner, but use metal containers. Plastic pipes should not be used for transporting thinner, and metal pipes must have good grounding measures. When cleaning the coating tool with thinner in the beam driven by the ball screw pair, extra care should be taken to prevent static electricity caused by friction and fire
sufficient fire-extinguishing equipment, such as dry powder, carbon dioxide, Halon extinguishers, etc., shall be equipped in transportation vehicles and vessels, storage warehouses and places of use. In case of thin material fire, do not use water to fight it, but only use chemical extinguishing agent until the software automatically presses the [stop loading] button. When there is not enough extinguishing agent, sand can also be used to put out the fire
